“The most rewarding, fulfilling and humbling experience of my life. To spend such quality time with these beautiful animals was unbelievable. A completely amazing experience and one I would recommend to anyone." Vicky
Passionate about wildlife conservation and looking for an unforgettable adventure where you will make a real difference? Come and join this internationally recognised team who are dedicated to saving a species from extinction.
As a rhino volunteer, you’ll gain an exclusive behind-the-scenes insight into the world's largest sanctuary for orphaned rhino. While our gates are closed to public visits, volunteers have the unique opportunity to better understand the effects of the rhino poaching crisis and contribute to the rescue, rehabilitation, rewilding, and release of orphaned and injured rhinos.
As an integral part of daily sanctuary operations, volunteers will support staff with the care of young rhino orphans. This includes milk preparation, bottle feeding, husbandry, boma care and maintenance, dry feed preparation, behavioural observations, and health checks. Please note that we are a conservation project with a long-term vision of releasing every rhino; contact with the orphans will be limited to essential needs only.
No previous experience is necessary, but a passion for wildlife and conservation is essential. Experienced staff will provide training and guidance on all activities.
