"My time volunteering in Nakuru has been beyond amazing. It has truly been the best experience of my life. The children at the school are all former street kids with troubled pasts. They are just so beautiful, resilient and happy, truly inspiring! Kenya is a beautiful country that I have loved exploring, at no point have I felt unsafe and my host family have been amazingly accommodating and helpful. This experience has exceeded all my expectations. I could not recommend this enough!!" Christina
Help out at this wonderful community project in the regional town of Nakuru, where street children are provided with free education, food, and a place to go and be kids for a few hours, away from the harsh realities of life on the streets.
This foundation provides an oasis of support in the hardship these kids face every day. As well as formal schooling, there are organised sports and activities available such acrobatics, football (soccer), volleyball and athletics.
Volunteers are of great value as support to local staff – whether it is assisting with meal-times, sports and games or in classes; or running an English session giving them the valuable chance to practice and develop their English language skills. We aim to teach English in an informal way and you are welcome to provide your own ideas.
It’s always appreciated when volunteers are proactive in creating educational sessions for the little ones, with songs and games. You’ll make a real difference through your efforts here. Not only will you provide a great service to the project, but the kids love the chance to interact with overseas visitors and despite their tough lives they have a lot of fun here.
